Baron Corrado Arezzo De Spucches (1824-1895) was the main artificer during the erection of the castle. In 1848 while he was elected member of the Sicilian parliament he also started running an anti-bourbon satirical newspaper.

During the year 1860, he also became member of the revolutionary committee.

Thanks to his huge political influence, he was able to extend the railway nearby the castle.

During his life, the Baron stands out for his culture’s sake and in 1865, we became Royal Italian Representative in Dublin exhibition.
