The ground floor of the castle is dedicated to the ‘Museum of Costume’ where is preserved ‘The Gabriele Arezzo Trifiletti’s Collection’.

It is considered one of the largest, richest and most valued assortment of clothes and accessories.

Already declared from the Italian institutions as full of an extraordinary anthropological interest.

The collection defined as “absolutely unique for being a proof of the sicilian aristocratic society during its apogee”, was bought by the sicilian municipality of Ragusa in 2015.

Shown in the Museum of Donnafugata’s Costume, besides the dress that inspired Angelica’s one in Leopardo’s movie, many other costumes, belonged to great historical and artistic characters like Vincenzo Bellini, Miramon Countess, Michele Amari, Pinto and so on.

Starting from the original core, many other acquisitions and subscriptions have followed with the passing of time.
